On June 2, 2026, the WTO Committee on Safeguards issued a notification submitted by the Indonesian delegation. On May 21, 2026, the Indonesian Ministry of Finance published Regulation No. 36 in the Official Gazette, deciding to continue imposing safeguard duties on imported curtains (including drapes), interior blinds, bed valances, and other furnishing articles. The measure took effect on May 22, 2026, and will remain in force for a period of two years, as follows:
From May 22, 2026 to May 21, 2027: 9,841 Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) per kilogram
From May 22, 2027 to May 21, 2028: 9,248 IDR per kilogram
The Indonesian HS codes for the subject products are: 6303.12.00, 6303.19.90, 6303.91.00, 6303.92.00, 6303.99.00, 6304.19.90, 6304.91.90 and 6304.92.00.
The two-year extension was approved after the Indonesian Safeguards Committee completed the sunset review, aiming to protect domestic textile manufacturers from the impact of large-volume low-priced imported curtain products.
